What is Smart Occupancy Detection?
Smart Occupancy Detection, a proprietary technology from Informetis, is a Smart AI control solution that allows Heat Pump users to save money on their bills without affecting their comfort.
Unlike geolocation heating, which relies on the users smartphone location to detect when a user isn't present at the home, Smart Occupancy Detection can automatically detect activity by monitoring the energy consumption of a domestic property, being more beneficial for homes that are active throughout the day when the primary smartphone account holder is away from the property.

Using our in-house developed algorithms and market leading disaggregation technology, Smart Occupancy Detection will automatically reduce the level of heat pump energy consumption based on multiple parameters including appliance usage, scheduled set-points and desired comfort level of the user.
Smart Occupancy Detection allows you to find the right balance between savings and comfort according to your personal needs.
How does Smart Occupancy Detection work?
Once activated by the user, Smart Occupancy Detection gets to work straight away without any further user input required.
Based on the activity within the property, Smart Occupancy Detection can auto-adapt the temperature setpoint by 3 levels of savings already defined by the user, resulting in a reduction of the energy bills without affecting their comfort. These 3 levels are:

Standard mode: +/- 1 °C variation from user scheduled set point

Eco mode: +/- 2°C variation from user scheduled set point

Super Eco mode: +/- 3 °C variation from user scheduled set point
For those users who want to stay in control, Smart Occupancy Detection can be manually overridden by the user at any time, allowing you to stay in control of your comfort​
PV Optimisation - additional saving for homes with Solar
For Heat Pump customers who also have solar panels installed at their property, additional savings can be made via our PV Optimisation, which allows the user to use excess generation to either store this energy in the domestic hot water cylinder or by preheating the property.

PV Optimisation is powered by a dedicated algorithm, as well as weather and UV forecasting, enabling the user to see their predicted generation in advance and helping them make informed decisions prior to the day in question.
